“I trained at Lackham College for a National Diploma in Floristry over 25 years ago, after qualifying I began working full-time at the bus station florists, for over 20 years before buying the business 9 years ago. We have changed the name to Bath Spa Florists as we relocated from the bus station to Widcombe, so I have been in this trade for 30 years, starting at the bottom and working my way up. Also, I have worked this around being a wife and mum to 3 children and 2 dogs, I still love this job even 30 years on!”

Our suppliers’ range in size from the large flower markets in Bristol, where we try to buy as many British lines as possible to many different types of flowers from across the world e.g. Dutch, French, Columbian and Spanish flowers.
However, when we can, at certain seasons, we like to keep it as local as we can, buying from the small market gardens of Combe Down and Batheaston in Bath.
We have a specialist Dutch wholesaler who visits us twice a week and a large supplier who we have access to 6 days a week who offer an online service allowing us next day deliveries.
We try our hardest to buy locally, to cut down on air miles and we also try to support British growers whenever possible.
